Many dishes need a special seasoning that can give them not only a unique taste, but also a refined aroma. To get this seasoning, you do not need to go far, because it can be an ordinary pickled onion. There are many variations of its use. The most interesting ways will be described in this article.

When preserving vegetables, several small onions are always added to the jars, however, this vegetable can be preserved for the winter on its own. From it you can subsequently make wonderful delicious winter salads, for example, a herring under a fur coat.

The recipe is not at all complicated. So, to pickle onions, you need to prepare these products:

  • Onions (the amount depends on how many cans it is planned to twist).
  • A few cloves of garlic.
  • Bay leaf (1-2 leaves in a jar).
  • A few peas of allspice.
  • Dill.
  • A spoonful of sugar.
  • A spoonful of salt.
  • A spoonful of vinegar.

Cooking begins:

  1. Any canning involves the thermal treatment of containers. Mistresses are used to carrying it with boiling water, as this is a simple and effective way of sterilization. This must be done, otherwise the vegetables may disappear or the bank may explode.
  2. While the container is sterilized, vegetables should be prepared. For pickling, only clean onions are suitable, so each vegetable must be thoroughly washed. You should also wash the dill and garlic.
  3. Garlic and onions should be peeled.
  4. Now you can add vegetables and seasonings to a jar that has not yet cooled.
  5. A small pot of water should be put on medium heat and boiled. Boiling water is poured into each jar to the neck. Vegetables should be infused in boiling water for up to 7 minutes.
  6. After that, water from all cans should be drained back into the pan. The medium heat is reinserted and the liquid is brought to a boil. Spices are added to it: salt and sugar.

Cooking:

  1. For this harvesting, it is recommended to take a small onion, but if there are large vegetables, then they should be cut in half.
  2. All vegetables should be washed in cold water and peeled.
  3. For a tasty spin, you need to make sure that the bulbs stay in the marinade longer. It is prepared as follows: it is necessary to bring to a boil half a liter of water, adding pepper, salt and sugar to it.
  4. When the marinade just begins to boil, vegetables should be added to it and cook for about 5-6 minutes.
  5. When the pan is removed from the stove, the vegetables should be in the marinade for another 5 minutes.
  6. In a clean jar, add a little vinegar, then pour the workpiece into it.

  • Frying oil.

Cooking:

  1. Vegetables must be washed, peeled and finely chopped.
  2. Heat the oil well in a pan. You can combine creamy and sunflower. Do not throw the chopped onion into the pan until the oil is completely heated.
  3. Fry the onion for about 35 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not allow it to burn. It is better to fry it with a closed lid.
  4. 5 minutes before turning off the fire, spices are added.
  5. Fried onions are transferred to sterile jars and filled with oil.

You can use both sunflower and olive oil.

How to marinate onions for the winter for making sandwiches

  • Vinegar and salt.

You can start cooking:

  1. Washed and peeled onions must be cut. For sandwiches, slicing in half rings is considered ideal.
  2. To remove excess bitterness, chopped vegetables are poured with boiling water and infused for 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a separate container you need to mix soy sauce, spices and sunflower oil.
  4. Vegetables must be placed in this container, after having decanted the water. Insist them should be about an hour.
